The Two Main Airsoft Games

There are two primary games people play when they play airsoft. These two games are called CQB and Mil Sim. People take these games very seriously and they are a lot of fun to get into when you have enough people to play.

CQB is an airsoft game that is also known as Close Quarters Battle. Some people call the game CQC or Close Quarters Combat. This is a very popular way to play airsoft. When people play CQB they are usually in close quarters. The basic idea is to play the game in an enclosed area. The action of the game is usually fast combat action and there are many surprises.

During CQB the area is often setup as an urban war zone. Some people like to setup the area as a terrain filled with enclosing gates, walls, doorways, stairways, tunnels, and more. It may seem like a maze or a realistic scene with underground approaches, overhead openings, and more which allow shooters to get their opponent from only a few feet away. Some people like to play the game in dense shrubbery with the look and feel of playing in the forest; hiding behind trees, shrubbery, and tall grass. When people play airsoft in too close of range in CQB situations then they are usually sure to have guns with less firepower. Players usually wear extra padding and vests for protective clothing to avoid close range hits and ricochet hits. When a player gets hit too close with a BB from an airsoft gun then it can be very painful without the proper padding.

Mil Sim is another favored game when playing airsoft. This game is played while imitating military live action role playing elements. The game will be played with teams and each team will be given a mission. The teams will also be given equipment like short-range radios and headsets, batteries, rations, and a basic load of ammunition for their guns. Airsoft uses 6mm or 8mm pellets but in Mil Sim the 6mm pellets are used.

The staging area is considered a safe zone or an area for medical emergencies or for any other serious circumstance that would require you to be out of the game for a short period of time. All teams are required to remain in the field for the entire duration of the game. Mil Sim airsoft games can last for several days without any breaks. Sweden holds an event every year called the BERGET which lasts for 6 straight days in a row and there are no breaks. It is common for people to paint vans and trucks for use in the Mil Sim game in large scale operations of play.

Airsoft is a very popular game because people love to get dressed up in their combat gear and simulate like they are going to war. The two most popular ways to play airsoft with teams of people is by playing Close Quarters Combat or Mil Sim. These games can last for a couple of hours or they can last for days depending on how you want to play and how seriously you take the game.
